FAQs
Like any new or unusual experience, there are tons of questions that arise. Because we want to provide the best time of your life, we answer the most frequent questions we get about our rides. Below you’ll find the answers to everything you need to know, from safety to cancellations and beyond! Take a look:
Riders
Do first-time riders get instructions on riding the horse?
We do provide a teaching trail ride for all of our first-time riders. These include instruction with demonstration.
Can small children ride on the same horse with an adult?
We do not allow small children to ride with their parents (doubles). We have a Velcro system that fits in our saddles that keeps the children stable on their horses. The designated parent or our guide leads their horse for you to be comfortable, enjoy the ride, and can take pictures of your children.
We offer a unique experience where children can get the feel of a real ride while maintaining safety and guaranteeing supervision.
Note: Prices do not vary whether a child or adult is riding, due that the same amount of work is involved.
Safety
What happens if bad weather is forecast on the day of my ride?
If there is a 30% or more chance of rain, we will check the radar to monitor the location and time the storm will hit our area. We then plan your ride based on that information, adjusting the time or rescheduling it accordingly.
Is wearing a helmet required for riding?
While it isn’t mandatory, we have some helmets available if you want to feel safer. Ask your trail guide to get you one. You can also bring your helmet from a bike or similar gear.
Ride Information
Can I book a ride for my group?
We offer group rides for families, reunions or your parties. We can do up to 10 people per group guided, including small children.
Where are you located?
We welcome you to Rocky Creek Park at Benbrook Lake, one of the prettiest trails in north Texas. We have a grassy parking lot at 5900 Rocky Creek Park Road, Crowley, Texas, 76036, which will be our meeting point. Since we aren’t 24/7 on the trail, please make a reservation ahead of time if you want a ride. On-demand rides aren’t available unless there is availability.
Weather
What if There is a Chance of Rain?
In case the weather forecast on the weather app indicates a probability of rain of 30% or higher, we will double check the radar to determine the location and timing of the approaching storm. If this affects your trail ride, we will reschedule your ride appropriately, which may entail modifying the departure time or rescheduling it for another day.
Cancellations
What do I do if I need to cancel my reservation?
You must cancel in a minimum of 24 hours to obtain a refund. We will charge a no-show or late cancellation fee on the day of the tour. Cancellations must be made by calling to ensure they are received within the 12-hour period.
Are there any no-show or cancellation fees?
There is a $75.00 no-show fee for groups of 5 or fewer. For groups with more than 5 people, the cancellation fee is $125. These fees cover all the labor required to get the horses ready and the time and resources used to drive to the trail to meet you.
